Generic Medicine

medicine patent has expired, so it can be manufactured by any pharmaceutical company without paying royalties. There are two types of generic medicine, which is trademarked and generic medicine, also generic cure marketed under the brand logo which contains the active substance. In the branded generics, active substances were given name (brand). Active substance amoxicillin for example, by the factory "A" branded "inemicillin", while the plant "B" gave the name "gatoticilin" and so on, according to the manufacturer desires. Of different brands, the same ingredients: amoxicillin.

 Logo of Generic Medicine (OGB) is the Government of Indonesia program, launched in 1989 with the aim of providing an alternative medicine for people, who with guaranteed quality, reasonable prices, and availability of sufficient medicine.

OGB destination was launched to provide an alternative that is affordable and quality medicines to the public. About the quality, of course, according to established standards as closely monitored by the Government. Only difference with other branded medicine are OGB no promotional costs, so the price is very affordable and readily available public.

Initially, OGB is produced only by a few state-owned pharmaceutical industry. OGB When first launched, the Ministry of Health to disseminate OGB incentive to villages. Currently socialization program is still running, although not as early birth segencar OGB. At first, OGB product is manufactured to meet the needs of medicine and government health institutions later evolved into the private sector because of the demands of society.

OGB is readily identifiable by a green circle logo and white striped with "Generic" in the center of the circle. The logo indicates that the OGB has passed the test of quality, efficacy and safety while the white lines indicate OGB can be used by various levels of society.

Quality generics of patented medicine is no different for the same raw material. Like a dress, its basic function to protect the body from the sun and cold air. Only, the model is varied.So it is with medicine. Generic packaging is made plain, as the most important to protect the product therein. However, who trademarked the packaging is made more interesting with a variety of colors. Packaging that makes the more expensive branded medicine.
